A Developing Developer

About me

For the past 10 years, I have been involved in college sports television and local news. I graduated from San Francisco State University's Broadcast and Electronic Communications department and have spent time as a news intern, photographer, stage manager, playback operator, bug-box operator, and replay operator. With stops at Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, KTVU and the Pac-12 Network, I am now venturing off into the world of front-end web development. My design philosophy emphasizes intuition, simplicity and clean aesthetics.

Pac-12 Network

My first job out of college was at the Pac-12 Network. I started out as a camera operator and made my way up to an instant replay operator. This is an EVS machine. We like to call it Elvis. It is used to rewind and play back video in either slow motion or real-speed. It gets stressful sometimes, but at the end of the day, it's just a fun job. Watching sports and finding the best angles to replay to offer the viewer an amazing experience is very rewarding.

Nature

When I'm not working, I love to be out in nature. This picture was taken at Bodega Bay Head. I think it's important to keep a clear head and being in the outdoors, especially by the beach, is a great way to do just that.

KTVU

For 4 years, I was a floor director at KTVU Channel 2 News. It was some of the most stressful and demanding work I've ever done. Keeping the anchors in line, mic'ing up guests in 2 minute commercial breaks, and covering breaking news kept me on my toes and taught me how manage time effectively, juggle multiple tasks, and stay vigilant for hours on end.
